📜 THE QUEST FOR THE THESIS SCROLL 📜
In the distant lands of Academia, a weary human scholar has completed the legendary Thesis Scroll.
Before she can submit it to the Council of Knowledge, she must pay tribute to the brave companions who journeyed with her. Each companion has to give her back a token of recognition of her gratitude.

The weary scholar enters the Department of Interpretive Tongues, a magical tower run by wizards and sages whose ambition is to develop an interplanetary language.
She looks around until she spots, patiently staring at a glistening orb, the glass-wearing Archmage Barròn. Should she approach him?

[[Return to the Beginning->Start]]The labor of authoring the thesis scroll has caused an insumourtable feeling of exhaustion to the little scholar. She decides to take the path towards the House of Korrè, that most often offers a sensation of peace in times of need. There she finds open the healing center and the bank. Where does she go?

* [[Bank]]Famished and parched, the Weary Scholar trudges down the road toward a nearly run-down inn, in search of a refreshing beer. There, unexpectedly, she stumbles upon her three jester friends: the ardent pipe-smoker Isi (D’Oro), the brainiac Dani, and the ever-musical Gianvi. They were drinking pints of beer and they were laughing loudly.
Does the Weary Scholar approach them first or does she go to get herself a beer and something to eat?

The scholar, tired to her marrow, stepped through the doorway into the Liminal Institute of Anxiety. The halls were bathed in flickering fluorescent gloom, the air stagnant and heavy.
Lurking in a corner was a grotesque thing—razored teeth jutting from warped jaws, scales sickly and black and a glistening giant forhead. Lockus Generus, of the genus Piranha de Mala Onda, hissed from the shadows. Its curse hung like a fog: sadness, misanthropy, dread. Everyone here had given up.
The scholar chanted a spell.
From a crack in the walls came F.R.G., the nerdy wizard with muscles forged from excessive book-lifting.
A.M., the unhinged tiefling with blood-red eyes and a firestarter's grin, kicked the door open, unleashing a primal punk scream.
Then, swirling in from the skylight, Emancina and Emisina, tiny witches of mirror-magic, twirled like storm petals.
"We end this," said the scholar.

She approaches the mighty mage and gently taps him on the back. He silently turns around.
Archmage Barròn (AB): Oh no, what do you want again? Please. I’ve read your scroll five times already. If I had to look at just a word from it again, I’d scream.
She offers a nervous smile.
Weary Scholar (WS): Archmage Barròn, please, you misunderstood! I just wanted to thank you for your constant advice and endless feedback loops. I also need to obtain a token of gratitude if you deem my gratitude sincere.
AB: I see! Well, your gratitude is welcome. You can take this brain-energiser potion machine . We have a new one in DIT. Now, please, be on your way as I have to check the accuracy of the predictions of this orb.
He turned around and mumbled something in a mysterious language that sounded like... Spanish.

She swiftly turns on her heel toward the exit, but as she spins, she doesn't see the ancient bookcase behind her.
Weathered by centuries and barely holding together, it tips dangerously and nearly crashes down on her, landing with a loud thud and filling the room with 400-year-old dust.
The Archmage slowly turn his gaze and stares at her in a way that could only be described as annoyance.
Weary Scholar (WS): I am incredibly sorry! I did not mean to disturb you.
Archmage Barròn (AB): Tell me!
She slowly gets up but starts coughing uncontrollably as the dust started stirring again.
The Archmage was starring silently.
After an amount of attempts to breath normally again that one would only characterize sad, she manages to utter:
WS: Archmage Barròn, I came here give you my thanks for your constant advice and endless feedback loops. I also need to obtain a token of gratitude if you deem my gratitude sincere.
AB: Although you could have had more publications in the Archive of Clerical Language, you did manage to decode my crypted feedback. Take this magic fountain pen as you needed token. You can use it to grade your own apprentices one day. Now, off you go!
She diligently took the pen and she went her way to continue her quest!

The scholar heads to the bar, eager for a drink, but before she can order, a small, scruffy goblin rushes up beside her, grinning menacingly.
GOBLIN: "Hand over your gold, human!"
Before she can react, the goblin lunges, but Isi, Dani, and Gianvi are quick to intervene. They throw their foamy beers, splashing the goblin's ugly face.
ISI: "You’re interrupting our ale, you little pest!"
Gianvi, with his universally famous technique, gianvitizes the Goblin.
GV: "I will play you my gittern all night long!"
The Goblin, infatuated by the gianvitazation charm, falls down.
At that moment, Dani embraces his full jester potential. With the accompaniment of Gianvi's gittern melody, he chants a magic song:
"Trallelero trallala."
The goblin hisses at them. Amidst the confusion, the scholar takes out a magic scroll and reads aloud an incantation. A burst of light surrounds the goblin, and when it fades, the creature has transformed into something even uglier than before. Its green skin is now mottled with strange, pockmarked growths, its ears elongated and drooping, and its eyes bulging like swollen, sunken marbles.
WS: "Now your face matches your attitude."
With the Goblin gone, the company enjoys another round of beer.
WS: "Thank you for always having my back! You’ve made these past three years so much easier—and way more entertaining. Whether we’re fighting goblins or just having pints… or, like today, both!"
ISI: "Anytime, Re Malaka." (An affectionate term in his native language.)
He reaches into his bag and pulls out a flamingo-shaped stone, its surface faintly glowing.
ISI: "We also wanted to give you this. It’s a magic stone—it’ll bring you euphoria in times of distress."
WS: "Thank you."
And so, they continued drinking, laughing, and sharing stories long into the night.

Feeling exhausted, she visits the Healing Center.
A small lady with jet-black hair sits at the front desk and greets the weary scholar with a warm smile.
Lady: How can I help you, dearest?
Weary Scholar (WS): I’d like something to rejuvenate my health.
The lady nods kindly. Without saying a word, she disappears into a back room behind the counter. Moments later, she returns holding a beautifully ornamented glass filled with ice and a almost transparent, milky-white liquid. The weary scholar detects the distinct scent of anise.
Lady: Try this.
WS: Wow, that’s strong!
But almost instantly, she feels her strength returning, along with a wave of euphoria.
WS: Thank you so much.
You’re such a kind soul.
Lady:Here—take this jacket too. You might get cold.

The scholar puts her hands in her pockets, her fingers brushing against lint and folded scraps of parchment. A sigh escapes her lips.
Scholars, she reminds herself, don’t choose this life for the money.
Realizing she has little else, she makes her way to the town’s bank, a tall, dusty building with polished brass door.
Inside, the bank clerk—a serious but kind-eyed man in a pressed blue vest—greets her politely.
Weary Scholar (WS): I’d like to make a withdrawal.
He types her name into acomputer and squints at the screen.
Clerk: I’m sorry, miss... but you have almost nothing in your account.
She gasps but the she forces a smile.
WS: That sounds about right.
The clerk pauses, studying her tired face and worn robes. Then something shifts in his expression and his eyes became even softer.
Clerk: You remind me of my daughter. She’s studying abroad now—always sends money back home, even when I tell her not to. Says it’s her way of giving thanks.
He reaches under the counter, pulling out a sealed envelope. With a nod, he slides it across to her.
She opens the envelope. Inside is a modest sum—enough to get by—and a small golden drachma that is very rare to find.
WS: I... I don’t know what to say.
Clerk: Just keep going.

F.R.G. shot a gravity orb, pinning the monster. A.M. leapt like a monkey, stabbing into the Lochus's sorrow-soaked hide. The twins conjured a dome of mirrors, trapping the creature in a prison of its own reflection.

The air cleared. Light returned. The Institute began to hum—not with sorrow, but with hope.
The friends gathered by the fountain, still laughing.
A.M. shoved a crumpled photo into the scholar's hands. "For your wall of weird victories."
In it, they stood shoulder to shoulder: a nerd, a devil, two witches, and a girl.
The scholar smiled. Not weary. Not anymore.

The scholar wandered along Strawberry Street, where the air smelled like distant summer.
In a narrow alleyway between a flower shop and a restaurant she saw it: a shimmer in the air, humming softly.
A portal.
Curiosity outweighed caution.
She stepped through.
[[Enter the Portal]]
The world bent sideways and folded inwards.
She landed, softly, on a warm carpet floor. Books lined the walls. There was a soft couch with a big dalmatian sleeping on it.
And then—he appeared.
"Hey," he said, grinning. "You're home."
He offered a hand. "So... what should we do tonight?"

The cake came out perfect. He gave her a slice of cake as a token of gratitude.
They high-fived each other and enjoyed their casual chit-chat with a nice slice of cake.

[[Return to the Beginning->Start]]The scholar walked past some willow groves and found herself before a still, glowing lake.
"Loch Ionis" she whispered, unsure.
There, floating on the foggy surface, waited an archivist with ink-stained robes.
[[Continue|Archivist Meeting]]The scholar approached the Archivist.
"I reconstruct ancient scriptures", he said, barely looking up from the glowing scroll hovering in front of him. "It's a lovely work".
A bottle floated toward them. "Care for a sip of Ambrosyx? A mythical spirit. Glows in the dark ".
He paused.
"Or... we could skip the chaos and just dive into ideas. I’ve had a week of translating cursed funeral rites. My brain’s ready to explode."
What do you do?
* [[Share a drink|Drink Together]]

"Let me tell you a cautionary tale", he began, swirling the glowing liquid.
"Once, I drank *way* too much Ambrosyx at a midnight ritual. Thought I could still teleport home—"
He paused.
"But I was too drunk. Couldn't even hold the sigil pattern in my head. So I walked."
The scholar raised a brow.
"Five miles. In robes. With a satchel full of ancient scripture fragments. At some point I was chased by wild dogs".
He took another sip.
"Don't drink and spell, kid".
[[Maybe there is a gift for you..]]
[[Return to the Beginning->Start]]They skipped the drink and lit floating lanterns above the water.
“Maybe there’s a language embedded in music—an ancient form of communication preserved through sound”.
“What if early languages were built like recursive poetry, where meaning unfolds through repetition and structure?”
“What if the world around us is a palimpsest—layer upon layer of overwritten languages and forgotten systems?”
They debated theories and visualized patterns.
In that moment, the scholar realized the real joy wasn’t in solving the puzzle, but in the process: the act of uncovering, preserving, and making sense of what had nearly been lost. Archiving, then, wasn’t about storage—it was about building bridges across time.
